Introduction to Word Online

This online session introduces Microsoft Word, that is available for you to use for free through the University, and is used by many students to complete written assignments. We will cover:

  • Formatting text and paragraphs
  • Using styles and themes
  • Inserting images, tables, headers and footers
  • Using Word with Endnote for referencing

Learning how to format documents can help you to structure your written assignments and make them more easily readable during your editing process, and understanding how Word works alongside reference management tools such as EndNote can help save you time with citing sources of information in your written work. You can find out more from Skills@Library about EndNote and other topics via the workshop programme, and online resources.

You can access this online webinar using your own device, or by using a device on campus.  To find out where you can access computers on campus, go to Spacefinder.

This workshop contributes to your digital capabilities development in the areas of digital proficiency and productivity.

To find out more about developing your digital capabilities through workshops and self-directed activities, visit the library website if you are a student, and the OD&PL website for staff.
